It was having electrical problems when last driven.
HistoryI acquired this car from a customer (I was one of the owners of Swedish Auto in Oakland, CA) in non-running condition. An exhaust valve had snapped and destroyed the head and piston, and the transmission failed a month after engine replacement.
I did quite a lot to the car when I still had the shop, including converting it to a 5-speed, but still has the original B Engine.
I was one of the owners, and the head mechanic, of Swedish Auto in Oakland, California.
Billy was my apprentice. One of his first tasks was to repair his own car, taken in before we hired him. He ended up doing almost all the work on it, although I built the transmission.
He wanted the car much lower than I thought sane, but I torched the coils for him to get what he wanted. I can point out the replacement section of the fuel return line that caught fire duing the process.
